Fixed windows are a good way to bring light into the room when no ventilation is required. It is also the most cost effective option for windows. Fixed windows can be designed in a combination with all window and door designs.

The maximum size is only limited by the glass size that can be laminated in New Zealand. The maximum size for annealed glass double glazing is 2500 mm x 3500 mm (Metro Glasstech).

If combined with doors, the size can be, as for example with French doors with two fixed sidelights, 5000 mm in width.
